Proximity
Card Scanner
The Proximity Card Scanner allows entry and exit
from secure areas. Unlike other proximity card
readers, the holder off the card has to prove
they are the rightful users by presenting a finger
impression. The reader does not hold a data base
of fingerprints. On scanning the card, the reader
electronically downloads the cardholder's fingerprint
template from the chip embedded in the card. On
proving they are the rightful owner of the card,
the fingerprint is then erased ready for next
user
